The Louis Dupont family estate: Elegance and richness of a terroir to offer the quintessence of the apple.
In Normandy, the Louis Dupont family Estate has been producing ciders and Calvados since 1887, in the heart of the Calvados production area of the Pays d'Auge Appellation of Origin. With its 30 hectares of orchards, the Dupont Estate has been resolutely committed for many years to a quality approach. Drawing inspiration from the best techniques used for cognac and 'grands crus', the Dupont family has studied, experimented and refined its production techniques to achieve the level of elegance and expression of the best wines.
By relying on the expertise of oenologists from wine-growing regions, the estate is enriching its methods. For cider, it uses techniques similar to those of wine: aging in barrels for the Cuvée Réserve, the traditional method of sparkling wines for the Cuvée Colette. All ciders are vintage.
To explore new tasting horizons, the estate is researching and innovating: Givre, a “soft apple wine”, triple cider, an atypical cider close to craft beers, playing on bitterness, high-degree Calvados (not reduced ) for a powerful and intense expression.
The Estate is located on the Cider 's road a signposted road that crosses the Pays d'Auge and brings together around twenty producers.
The entire Dupont Estate team is happy to welcome visitors and introduce them to the art of making cider and calvados. During the visit, you can discover the distillery and the cellars and enjoy the products during a tasting.
In the store, you can also discover other apple-based products: apple juice, cider vinegar, apple jelly, calvados chocolate. And every summer, the estate team offers a series of activities - gourmet walk, cocktail workshop, aperitif-concert, which allow you to discover the estate, its products and the secrets of their production in a friendly atmosphere.
