At the Domaine de la Couterie at Beuzeville, the TOUTAIN family has been making Calvados for 5 generations, with the respect for the ancestral customs and traditions that make a great name for small producers.
Corinne and her son Maxime, run this family business founded almost 100 years ago, on a 25 hectare (60 acre) estate planted with standard trees, located in the AOC Pays d'Auge area.
For cider making, the TOUTAIN family has the skills to apply a knowhow that is specific to each apple variety. After fermentation lasting 4 to 5 months, the sugar is completely turned into alcohol; the cider is then distilled on the estate.
At the Domaine de la Couterie, the Cellar master, who practises the art of ageing and blending, is rewarded when TOUTAIN Calvados arrives on prestigious tables around the world.
